WANT TO HELP? www.HappyEndings.us

Are you worn out? Tired of relationships that you give more then get? Do you want someone there just for you? Someone that won't criticize your life? So the dishes aren't done, dust everywhere and your not sure where the vacuum is? Consider a cat! They are low maintenance. Food and a clean litter box (5 minutes work tops) is all they require. A cat returns love! Not unconditional love, but true love all the same! The condition is you must love and treat them with kindness! Treat an animal like crap and they will be crap!

BUBB

Bubb has gained over a 1/2 pound since he's been with me and on his special diet of feed him constantly. This helps his over all health which is what I'm supposed to be doing. We are trying to get Bubb acclimated to our house but he does not like the dog and most of our cats. It's a slow proses but Bubb needs a home to live out his days. He will live a lot longer in a home then at the shelter. Not that shelters are bad it's just a lot more space and that means a lot more exercise which is good for all creatures. He will remain up for adoption but unfortunately very few want a cat that will only live maybe another 5 years give or take. Sad Bubb has all this love to give and no one to give it to because he's old.

NON ADULT

Non adults please beware. I use inappropriate language and I'm at times brutally honest and mean. I see tons of stray cats and dogs as I travel. To often they are hunks of dead meat on our road ways. This carnage really pisses me off! Cats are not native to the North American Continent. That's right people brought them here from other countries. So the stray cat and even dog population problem in the U.S.A. is because of us! People treat animals like toys, they play with them when they feel like it, then toss them aside. How many reading this have pets? How often do you pay attention to your pet? You chose to have the animal and that is a commitment! The problem with pets is that they are so cute as babies but only stay that way for a very short time. Even baby cows or pigs are cute, but who wants an adult cow as a pet? And now your stuck with an adult. How many reading this can't wait to get home to your pet? If you had a choice of hanging with friends or your pet which would you chose? Personally if I had the choice between humans and any type of pet I would chose the pet every time. Even a cow or pig. I like working with feral cats. When they start to come round and begin to trust you, what better feeling could there be? CAUTION! DANGER! BEWARE! STRAY ANIMALS ARE VERY DANGEROUS! They don't mean to hurt you, but they are very afraid and can not only harm you but can kill you! I'm almost 50 years old so I'm willing to take the risk. If you see an injured animal or an animal you think needs help PLEASE get an adult. If the adult won't or can't help get another. You see most adults are stupid and lazy but there are still some good people around, you just have to look. Animal shelters and rescues are a great place to get help from. Pets are different than wild animals. Wild animals grow up knowing how to survive in the wild but pets only know you! And only know that you will care for them. Please help animals which sometimes means not helping them at all. Letting an animal pass away is what we call being humane. It's tough but letting an animal suffer to give you some more time with your pet is cruel. Taking on more pets then you can care for is also cruel. They need more then food, water and shelter, they need loving. Having pets has brought me more joy then can be explained! Like I've said before I love animals more the humans and if I saw a hurt person and a hurt animal I would help the animal first!

BUBB

Bubb destroyed my dinner last night. I haven't had chicken nuggets in awhile. I only get them when McDonald's has good toys. Well I decided to get them. Budd thought we should share my dinner. He clawed at my leg, climbed  on my lap and kept getting on the steering wheel. I will not feed people food to animals, it's not good for them. Even a little bit because that makes them want more. Bubb decided to jump up on the passenger side and work his way over. I waited until he was close enough and picked him up and set him on the floor. As I did that Bubb hooked a paw into the nugget container and spilled them on the floor. Going down the road in the dark I started cucking nuggets out the window. When I turned on the dome light to see if I got them all I looked back to see Bubb trying to eat a hot nugget. He was out of my reach so he at least got to eat.

BUBB

Bubb is not uncouth like most animals. He has a dignified pallet. A conasuer of fine, fresh foods. Bubb will not suffer being fed the same food day in and day out. Variety is the spice of life. While Bubb is with me he is appreciated and given the respect his age requires. I feed him 4 or 5 times a day and if I present him with a food he does not want I simply throw it out and give him another. I will also stur his food as he eats to make sure it is easy to eat. I'm close to spoon feeding him but Bubb has his pride.
Water is a whole nother issue. Bubb likes clean paws and washes them often. Just beween you and me I think he's playing in the water but hay if that's what makes him happy I say go for it. I will be removing my carpeting however because I doubt it will ever dry. I may not like the human race but will do almost anything for an animal. The paws in the water and the subsequent splashing it all over means his water dish has to be cleaned and refilled constantly. I go through more then a case of water a week since I got Bubb. I also through a couple rolls of paper towels. Bubb is worth that and more.
He is very loving and needs a quite home with someone that will dote on him. Everyone wants a kitten but 6 to 8 months later your stuck with a cat. Why not get a cat that you already know their personality?  You don't train a cat they train you. Oh! My cat never goes on the kitchen counters. Yah right when your home. Set up a camera and see what happens when your not around. Take a cat like Sweet Pea she will only jump as high as she can reach. About 2 feet. It's her way. If you want a cat that doesn't get on counters that is the cat for you. How do you know a kitten will grow up to be a cudler? Bubb has proven he is. Unfortunately Bubb will probably live out his remaining years in a cage.

RINGWORM KITTENS

Ringworm kittens are not in my truck but I still help with them. A facility that I won't name had 6 kittens on the executioners block for having ringworm. A totally curable fungus was their death sentence. Happy Endings No Kill Cat Shelter rescued them. They are a hassle but also very cute and loving. They showed up with more then ringworm. They all had upper respiratory. Seen at Crawford Animal Hospital they were given medications and Doctor Baker donated some of his old lab coats to help from spreading the ringworm. The shelter staff went to work cureing them. With lab coats on and rubber gloves every kitten vhad to be medicated and their cage sanitized every day. All the bedding is washed in hot water with bleach. The shelter used a new mousse that probably would have worked in a home environment but failed at the shelter. That's where I come in. The tried and true method is to medicate, shampoo with a medicated shampoo and spray with sulfadine. Washing 1 kitten is bad but doing 6 and now 8 because 2 more joined the party is dam near impossible. That is what I do. They all hate getting washed and sprayed but without the treatment they will not get better. I do not hurt them although to listen to them scream you would think I was killing them. I get the worst of it. Bitten and scratched I'm worn out by the end. There are people at the shelter that can't stand what I do. I've been accused of hurting the cats. When I step aside and ask them to do whatever needs done WELL all I hear is excuses. I try to be as quick and painless as possible. They only call me in when all else fails. How many people are willing to let a cat dig it's claws in their arm while pilling them? The ringworm kittens are looking good and hopefully are over it. Happy Endings and I will get then healthy. After all a happy ending is what the shelter is all about.

SWEET PEA and BUBB

Sweet Pea and Bubb do not get along. Sweet Pea, the female, has the bed and Bubb, the male, gets the floor. Sweat Pea has been in the truck just the week before, and in the past, so she took the high ground kicking Bubb to the floor. This caused a problem right away since the food and litter box are on the floor. When Sweat Pea went down onto the floor Bubb got in her face. Sweat Pea swatted at Bubb missing completely.  Bubb being bigger just reached out and put a paw on Sweat Peas shoulder. She hissed once and went back up on the bed. So, a quick trip to the store and now I'm sleeping with a cat box next to my head and food dishes on a cabinet next to me. Bubb is a major pain in my ass. He has a foot fetish. He likes to lay by my feet and that places him under my clutch and brake pedals. If I need to stop I would crush him so now there is a towel blocking that area. Problem solved? No! Now he lays at and on my feet. I can't move my feet without looking to see if I'm going to step on him. The daytime is okay but at night it's a pain. He has also managed to force his way on top of the towel. Try removing a cat stuffed up under 2 pedals, and keep in mind you can't stop until you get him out of there. Bubb is a great older cat and is due the respect he deserves. But boy can he make it hard. So if you see a truck with Happy Endings No Kill Cat Shelter on it swerving, sorry! Just going after Bubb.
Sweet Pea and Bubb try to insist on people food. I eat most of my meals going down the road. Try eating with one cat attacking from below and the other from above. They both have medical conditions that means no people food. That doesn't stop them from trying. Bubb was stuck in my garbage can once when I got back in from fueling.
Sweet Pea is not thrilled that she can't get to my lap to sit and be pet for hours. Bubb has the floor so he has lap access. I do pet Sweet Pea on the bed but Bubb is more accessible and in my face.
